Effective communication is essential for any business leader and this means taking full responsibility for both the delivery and the impact of communication. Taking responsibility means:

  • Recognising and understanding the impact of communication on the intended recipient/s
  • Having the skills to allow for a style flexible enough to reach anyone
  • Detecting and responding approriately to non-verbal cues
  • Using a body language and non-verbal style that is congruent with the verbal message and intention

The verbal content of a message is critically important but the vehicle to successfully delivering that content is the non-verbal manner in which it is packaged. In communication terms this is the difference that makes the difference between merely talking and actually communicating.

What You Will Achieve On This Training

This course focusses on learning to recognise and apply a communication style that facilitates delivery of communication to, and understanding of non-verbal feedback from, any intended recipient whether colleague or client. At the end of this training you will be able to:

  • Develop rapport faster and more effortlessly with anyone
  • Recognise and capitalise on the many non-verbal elements of communication
  • Implement a simple system to calibrate levels of understanding and buy-in to what you communicate
  • Enhance leadership and influence using specific body language that engenders credibility and trust
  • Associate certain body language styles with their underlying meanings

As with all of our trainings a focus on practical exercises to complement any theoretical points makes it far easier for delegates to take the learnings from the training room to the work context leading to immediate benefits.

How You Will Learn

All of our courses have an emphasis on developing practical skills that can be applied in real world situations. We use a mixture of teaching styles, metaphor, natural examples and plenty of exercises to engage both unconscious and conscious aspects of learning. About Your Trainer

Toby Poulsom MSc is focussed on Training and Executive Coaching in the business sector and works with clients as diverse as the NHS and KPMG. Having worked in senior roles for numerous Blue Chip and privately owned organisations Toby is able to bring a broad scope of natural real world examples to his trainings, this makes it easier for delegates to contextualise their learning's.

Toby is a licensed (by Shelle Rose Charvet) 'Words That Change Minds' Consultant & Trainer. He is also an ITA Certified Classic and New Code NLP Trainer having certified directly with Grinder, Bostic and Carroll. Toby delivers a broad range of leadership training courses focussed on advanced communication skills, motivation and emotional intelligence.

In addition to his focus on business Toby has a passion for sports and peak performance. He coaches a number of athletes, including a British and a World Champion, in strengthening their mental games.
