Description:
We have a great opportunity for someone to take on the role of Laboratory Manager in a Physical Testing department.
The Laboratory team are responsible for performing a range of physical testing on pharmaceutical products utilising Particle Sizing, DSC & other Thermal Analysis techniques, Spectroscopy and Wet Chemistry.
The physical properties laboratory is run as a business entity in itβs own right, so in addition to ensuring the smooth running of the laboratory to appropriate quality standards this role has significant business responsibilities including:
β’ Financial β planning resources to ensure effective use of laboratory resources β’ Consultative Expertise β providing consultancy, on physical properties issues, to other laboratories β’ Staff β recruitment, direction, motivation and management of laboratory staff β’ Business Development Support β promotion of departmental services and support in growth of client base β’ Health and Safety β maintenance of environmental and H&S commitments
This role presents someone with a fantastic opportunity to move away from a pure laboratory oriented role into a position with much greater and more diverse responsibility.
The ideal candidate is likely to already have experience in a supervisory role, with expertise in Physical Properties analysis and a relevant BSc level (or higher) qualification. Working knowledge of quality accreditation systems (GMP, GLP, UKAS, ISO etc) is essential.
The actual salary offered with this position will reflect performance at interview, qualifications and experience. In any event we anticipate an offer in the Β£28,000 to Β£32,000 range. The company also pay an annual performance bonus and healthcare and benefits package.
