Why The Recruitment sector Can Never Offer You Real Value

The current approach in the recruitment sector is heavily flawed and cannot offer value for money. The process can be summarised as follows.

  • A company creates a vacancy and typically issues it to several agencies simultaneously
  • The agencies draft job adverts and place them on the same websites
  • Candidates apply and keywords on CV's are matched to keywords on the job specs
  • Companies hold interviews and sometimes internal applicants get the role, sometimes external sometimes no one
  • Agencies fill and then invoice on around 1 in 8 vacancies they work on
  • The agency invoices at about 8 times the value of their work to recover the cost of time wasted on other vacancies

The average recruitment fee for non management roles is £2850 (+VAT), as reported in a CIPD survey, and much higher for management roles. Most of this fee is incurred because of inefficiencies in the traditional recruitment process.

The amount of work conducted by an agency does not justify the fee. The process is flawed .... but it is changing.

We conduct a consultation on the role, then we draft an advert for approval by the client and then we use our state of the art software to advertse the role on up to 200 internet job boards. The advert will then also be found on local media job boards that use advert sharing to ensure they have sufficient vacancies to attract an audience.

Through this service we can usually guarantee (subject to sector and skill set) a minimum of 10 CV's for the role. in reality we routinely receive over 60 CV's per advert.
